In black DLC the car-body case almost disappears, and the time turns up on its side, through a sapphire prism: the hour jumps, the minutes trail along. Inside, the hour and minute discs lie flat. A sapphire prism on the flank of the case reflects them upright and magnifies the numerals. The hour jumps; the minutes trail along. AMIDA’s original carried two patents, one for the jumping hour and one for this prism.
A Soprod Newton P092 automatic drives an in-house module of 9 components and 6 screws, with 44 hours of reserve. The case is 39.6 mm by 39 mm, water resistant to 50 m.
On charcoal Alcantara lined in orange calfskin, or the metal bracelet. It reads best with your hands on a steering wheel: hence the old name, the driver’s watch.
