PRJKT8 is a watch boutique in Bahrain for independent watchmaking. The idea began in 2012; the boutique opened at Moda Mall in 2016. Next year, PRJKT8 turns fifteen.
A banker, a blog and a watch he couldn’t buy at home.
Ali Mudara was working in finance in Dubai’s DIFC when he started reading Hodinkee and the other watch blogs that were changing how people talked about watches. The more he read, the more one name stayed with him: SEVENFRIDAY.
He wanted one, and found there was no dealer anywhere in Bahrain. So in 2012 he wrote to the brand’s founder, Dan Niederer. That conversation is where PRJKT8 began.

A partner joins
Husain Mudara joins Ali, first as a silent partner and investor.

Opening at Moda Mall
PRJKT8 opens in Moda Mall with a handful of brands, among them Ressence and SEVENFRIDAY.

A full-time partner
Husain Mudara joins full time as CXO, looking after the experience of clients, the brand and the team.

A new boutique
The boutique is redesigned, and PRJKT8 and eight° now share one roof.

A seat on the GPHG jury
Ali is named a member of the jury of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
