Chronoswiss Open Gear Hypnotic and Open Gear Freeze
Chronoswiss looks to hypnosis and to ice for two new Open Gear watches, each with a dial guilloched by hand.
The Open Gear Hypnotic and the Open Gear Freeze are each limited to 50 pieces. The Hypnotic’s guilloché, reminiscent of hypnotic spirals, sits under a colour-changing violet CVD coating. The Freeze is in ice blue.

Both use the brand’s 3D regulator layout, with the hours off-centre at 12, central minutes and small seconds at 6. The dial is built on two levels: skeletonised gear-train bridges and funnel-shaped hour and seconds displays float above the guilloché. The 41mm steel case has a partly knurled bezel and an onion crown.
Inside is the automatic calibre C. 301, its skeletonised rotor coloured to match each dial. Chronoswiss calls this mix of guilloché craft and bold design “Modern Mechanical”.
The Hypnotic, the brand says, draws the eye in. The Freeze is an icy wind on a still day.
