Type 9 IKE

The Ressence TYPE 9 IKE transforms the brand’s most minimal watch into a moving work of art. Created in collaboration with Japanese artist Terumasa Ikeda and limited to just 8 pieces, this edition merges ancient craft with futuristic design.

The DLC-coated titanium architecture frames a dial built using traditional Japanese urushi lacquer and raden mother-of-pearl inlay. Each element is meticulously shaped and layered by hand, following the curvature of the rotating convex display. Inspired by planetary motion and heliocentrism, the composition evolves continuously as the ROCS display rotates, creating the impression of a coded message drifting through space.

At 39 mm, the TYPE 9 represents Ressence in its purest form — hours and minutes displayed through the patented orbital system with no crown interrupting the case. The ultra-light titanium construction keeps the watch comfortable while the dark DLC finish emphasises the luminous textures of Ikeda’s artwork.

Limited to eight pieces worldwide, the TYPE 9 IKE stands at the intersection of contemporary watchmaking and traditional Japanese craftsmanship — an object that feels both ancient and impossibly modern.
