A note from the PRJKT8 team
We chose it because it makes people smile before they ask what it is. Then they lean in and find a proper L'Epée 1839 movement behind a green Murano eye, wound once every 8 days. Few things in the boutique get more smiles, and it keeps good time while it watches the room.PRJKT8
From the side, it is a clock. From the front, it is a green glass eyeball on a pair of dinosaur legs, keeping an eye on your desk.
The idea began with an ornament on MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser’s desk: a Christmas bauble standing on two chicken legs. L'Epée 1839 turned it into 201 components, with a skeletonised sphere for a skull, legs modelled on Tyrannosaurus fossils and taloned feet, in steel, palladium-plated brass and bronze.
The dial is the eye itself, hand-blown Murano glass coloured green with metallic salts. Behind it, a 138-part movement made in-house beats at 2.5 Hz and runs 8 days on a full wind. The same key sets the hands through the centre of the dial.
Limited to 100 pieces in green. At about 2 kg, it won’t wander off.
