We chose it because it is very hard to watch it unfold with a straight face. Behind the robot is real watchmaking: the D31 calibre, a double-hairspring flying tourbillon and three wandering hour satellites in a 3D-printed titanium case. Limited to 8 pieces, it is a watch and a desk clock in one.PRJKT8
Retrovision 85 is a wristwatch that turns into a robot. Its arms and legs fold in around the 3D-printed titanium case; unfold them and it stands on the desk as a table clock, 96 mm tall.
Hautlence drew it from the transforming robot toys of the eighties and made it the second of its Concepts, shown at Watches & Wonders and Limited to 8 pieces. The case carries copper-coloured PVD accents.
The time is serious. Three hour satellites in blue and purple travel around a sapphire minute disc with Globolight® rings, and a double-hairspring flying tourbillon turns in full view. The D31 automatic calibre gives 72 hours at 3 Hz.
As a watch it is 64 × 60 mm and 11.8 mm thick, water resistant to 50 m, on a black rubber strap with a titanium pin buckle. It will also stand on its own two feet.
