Description

On HM12 The Guardian Green, the colour goes on the face shields that slide across the dial and on the robot that carries the watch.

Those shields are worked by the crown on the left. Turn it and they close over the face like eyelids, or stop wherever you leave them, so the robot can look awake, sleepy or wary. Behind them, the jumping hours and trailing minutes read as eyes, with the flying tourbillon above as the brain.

The movement is MB&F’s own automatic calibre: 646 components, 86 jewels and 84 hours of reserve, wound by a double-sided micro-rotor. The case is Grade 5 titanium, 49.3 by 43.6 mm. On its Velcro strap it is a wristwatch; released, it becomes the head of The Guardian, the 38.2 cm robot developed with L’Epée 1839, which keeps the strap in a drawer in its base.
