Ressence introduces the TYPE 8 Daniel Engelberg
German artist Daniel Engelberg's concentric circles now orbit each other on a titanium dial, animated for the first time by Ressence's orbiting display.
Ressence today introduces the TYPE 8 Daniel Engelberg, two art watches limited to 40 pieces: DE1 in pink, DE2 in turquoise.

Built on the pared-back TYPE 8, the 42.9mm titanium dial reads hours and minutes only, through the patented Orbital Convex System (ROCS). Engelberg's symmetrical Inside Out patterns are engraved into the convex titanium dial and filled with Super-LumiNova. The rings orbit one another as small satellites carry the hours and minutes past them.
“It's an almost literal integration of an artwork into a watch dial,” says Benoît Mintiens, Ressence's founder. “For the first time, I have a work of art that is animated,” Engelberg adds. Each watch comes with a rubber strap in its own dial colour, pink or turquoise, plus a shared strap in blue leather for more formal wear.
