Watchmaker Stephen McDonnell designed a flyback into his Sequential chronograph from the first prototype, then held it back until every element was proven.
MB&F today introduces the LM Sequential Flyback EVO, which brings the flyback to the EVO collection in a grade 5 titanium case with an aquamarine dial plate. It also gains the tilted time dial of the classic LM Sequential, for better legibility.

Like every EVO, it has 80 metres of water resistance, a screw-down crown, an integrated rubber strap and the FlexRing shock absorber. Two chronographs share one movement, each with its own pushers and now each with a flyback.
A fifth pusher at 9 o’clock, the Twinverter, inverts the start/stop state of both at once, for split-second, cumulative and lap timing. For the flyback’s jewelled roller, McDonnell made the first jewel himself.
When Maximilian Büsser raised a follow-up to the LM Perpetual in 2016, McDonnell’s reply was four words long: “I have an idea”.
Two chronographs, one movement, one switch: the Sequential idea keeps finding new places to live, and the EVO case is only the latest wrist it has found.
