Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein, the Smile-Day Stahlgrau
Alain Silberstein brings his Bauhaus-inspired shapes to the Smile-Day Stahlgrau, the latest watch in his collaboration with Louis Erard, running since 2019.
Louis Erard today introduces the Smile-Day Stahlgrau, limited to 178 pieces. In place of a weekday, the dial’s aperture shows one of seven emojis, chosen to match the mood of the day.

The case is titanium, 40mm across, with arched bars forming the lugs and a red-lacquered crown. Primary colours read the time: a red triangular hour hand, a blue arrow-shaped minute hand and a yellow squiggly seconds hand, against a glossy grey dial the brand calls Stahlgrau.
Inside is the automatic Sellita calibre SW220-1, its oscillating weight openworked and finished with the Louis Erard symbol in black lacquer. “My colored squares, circles and triangles pay homage to Kandinsky’s exploration of the connection between primary colors and shapes,” says Alain Silberstein. Since his debut at Basel in 1987, Silberstein has kept that same geometry: circles, squares and triangles rendered in primary colour.
