François Czapek founded his business on the Quai des Bergues in Geneva. Czapek has now gone back to the same quay with a new flagship, and this is the watch it made for the opening.
The dial is dark blue aventurine, a glass full of metallic flecks that glitter like stars over the lake at midnight. It is domed and cut through for two recessed counters: small seconds at 7:30, power reserve and weekday at 4:30. The design first appeared in a larger case; this one is 40.5 mm in steel.
Inside is the hand-wound SXH1, with two barrels, 3 Hz and more than 168 hours of power reserve, on show through the sapphire caseback. Limited to 18 pieces, after No. 18 rue de la Corraterie, Czapek’s first modern boutique.
