Most watches hurry. In the Pulse60, a 20 mm balance wheel swings once a second, 60 times a minute, the pace of a resting heart, on the dial side where you can watch it.
Dominique Renaud calls 1 Hz the lowest frequency in contemporary mechanical watchmaking. He steadies it with a balance sized like a marine chronometer’s, free to swing past 360° without overbanking: about twice the usual amplitude.
The hand-wound BUA2024 runs for 4 days. On the silver-grey dial, blue hands tell the hours and minutes at 12 o’clock, the seconds at 9 o’clock tick in half-second steps, and a torque indicator sits at 3 o’clock.
Grade 5 titanium, 40 mm × 44 mm, on a quick-change rubber strap.
