The watch

The Polar is built for places where the sun can stay up, or stay down, for months. So the dial runs on 24 hours, and you always know whether it is day or night.

The rotating bezel is engraved and enamelled with the Arctic Ocean’s seas, each at its time zone, so it reads a second time zone; it also works as a sun compass. 6 red and blue lines split the dial into 4-hour watches for crews at sea, and Super-LumiNova covers dial and hands.

Inside is Raketa’s automatic calibre 2624A, made in St Petersburg, with 40 hours of power reserve and a rotor finished to recall the northern lights. The 41.6 mm steel case has a screw-down crown and is water resistant to 20 ATM.

Each Polar comes with a certificate from Russia’s “Arctic” voluntary system for use in polar conditions, and a steel bracelet.
