MB&F HMX Purple Black Badger Edition

In the dark, this HMX glows purple. James Thompson, known as Black Badger, milled the engine's 'rocker covers' from solid blocks of high-efficiency lume, which holds its glow far longer than painted lume.

The HMX is shaped like a car engine. The hours jump, in either direction, and the minutes trail, both reflected through sapphire prisms with a built-in magnifying lens, so the time faces you from the front of the case like a dashboard.

MB&F built the jumping-hour and trailing-minute module in-house on a Sellita gear train: automatic, with 223 components, 29 jewels and 42 hours of reserve. The case of grade 5 titanium and stainless steel measures 46.8 × 44.3 × 20.7 mm.

Limited to 18 pieces, from the Performance Art collection. It is on leather with a steel pin buckle, with the MB&F display box and papers.
