Jean-Charles de Castelbajac works in red, blue and yellow, and on this M.A.D.1 those colours went onto the rotor, lacquered across its three blades. The bright green on the hour cylinder is his too.
The collaboration is called Time to Love. The rotor was re-engineered for it in titanium and tungsten, with one wing slightly heavier than the other two so it spins more willingly. The numerals on the cylinders are in Castelbajac's own handwriting.
Underneath, a modified Miyota 821A sits upside down so the rotor turns on top, at 3 Hz. The time runs along the side of the 42 mm stainless steel case, which is 18.8 mm tall and water resistant to 30 m.
