A note from the PRJKT8 team
We chose it because it is the Legacy Machine we find hardest to hand back. Purple on white gold sounds bold and wears quietly, and the balance swinging above the dial does the rest. If you have wondered how a Legacy Machine feels on the wrist, this is the one we would put on yours first.PRJKT8
On white gold, purple reads cool rather than loud. The LM101’s light purple dial plate is sunray-brushed, and the dark NAC-finished bridges beside it give it something to push against.
Above it hangs the 14 mm balance, held by two polished arches, with four regulating screws and a ©Straumann double hairspring helping it breathe evenly as it swings. Two white enamel sub-dials, slightly larger than on earlier LM101s, keep the time and the power reserve.
MB&F developed the movement entirely in-house, and Kari Voutilainen defined how it is finished. Hand-wound, about 45 hours of reserve, in an 18-carat white gold case of 40 mm, water resistant to 3 ATM, on black calf leather.
