Description

Forty-eight blue sapphires, baguette-cut and hand-set by STG Création in Geneva, run around the bezel of this LM Perpetual. On 18-carat white gold they make a cold, clear blue frame, and the PVD-treated hands are blue to match.

Inside is the perpetual calendar Stephen McDonnell developed for MB&F. A conventional one assumes every month is long and takes away the days it lacks; this one starts each month at 28 days and adds what is needed, through what MB&F calls a mechanical processor.

The 14 mm balance hangs above the dial. Hand-wound, 72 hours of reserve, 44 mm by 17.5 mm, water resistant to 30 m. The stones come from Madagascar and Sri Lanka, about 1.95 carats in all.
