Description

HM12 The Guardian Purple is a watch, a robot, a mechanical sculpture, and probably the only object in the room that looks like it might wake up after midnight.


Conceived as a total horological concept, HM12 transforms the wristwatch into the head of a mechanical guardian. The time display becomes the eyes. The flying tourbillon becomes the brain. The MB&F battle-axe micro-rotor becomes the mouth. And when the watch is removed from the strap, it clips directly onto The Guardian: a 38.2 cm robot companion developed with L’Epée 1839.


The watch is powered by an in-house automatic calibre made of 646 components, with instantaneous jumping hours, trailing minutes, an 84-hour power reserve and a fully mechanical face shield system. The Guardian robot adds another 755 components, including a mechanical thermometer, integrated magnifying glass and UV torch.


The Purple edition pushes the character of HM12 into full cosmic toy-box territory. Very technical. Very finished. Very MB&F.
