The UR-10 grew from a Gustave Sandoz clock with three astronomical dials, discovered and restored by Gérard Baumgartner, father of URWERK co-founder Felix Baumgartner.
URWERK today introduces the UR-10 SpaceMeter Blue, a final edition of 25 pieces. It closes the “10” collection, which now enters the brand’s archive, “The Legends”.

Its round blue dial looks almost classic, which URWERK calls the essence of its subversive nature. At 2 o’clock, a counter records every 10 km of the Earth’s daily rotation. At 4 o’clock, another records every 1,000 km of its orbit around the Sun, and at 9 o’clock a third combines the two.
“Time is not something we observe. It is something we inhabit,” says Martin Frei, co-founder and artistic director of URWERK. The self-winding calibre UR-10.01 uses a patented Double Flow Turbine: two propellers turning in opposite directions to protect the winding system.
On the back, a hand traces the hours on a 24-hour scale, evoking the Earth’s full rotation — a watch that measures the planet’s motion as much as the hour.
