Armin Strom introduces the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Purple
Artist-watchmaker Kari Voutilainen cuts the barley-grain guilloché on the mainplate of Armin Strom’s latest Gravity Equal Force, in a purple the brand says it has never used before.
Armin Strom today introduces the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Purple, limited to 25 pieces per year. The purple is applied with a 3D PVD process and shifts in tone with the light.

The small off-centred dial is transparent sapphire crystal, which the brand reserves for its “Ultimate Sapphire Editions”. Three dark grey ruthenium-plated bridges occupy the right of the open display. They are inspired by the finger-style bridges of pocket watches, and finishing them by hand takes up to a full day.
Armin Strom says the Gravity Equal Force was the first automatic watch with an equal force transmission built into the mainspring barrel, a patented mechanism. The barrel, with its power reserve indicator, is visible from the dial side, opposite the micro-rotor.
Like every Armin Strom watch, the movement is assembled once to check it, then taken apart and assembled again when it is ready to be cased.
Armin Strom calls the result “at once regal and electric”.
