To mark 15 years of its fully integrated Manufacture, Armin Strom has built a smaller resonance watch with two dials, two time zones and two movements in one case.
Armin Strom today introduces the Dual Time GMT Resonance First Edition, limited to 25 pieces in 18-karat white gold. It reworks the resonance complication, which the brand calls its most historically significant innovation.
Two symmetric sky-blue dials, each with a grenage finish, sit inside black azurage chapter rings, and each has its own engraved sun and moon for day and night. A crown on either side, at 4 and 8 o’clock, sets each dial independently. On the dial side, two balance wheels beat in resonance while a clutch spring pulses between them.
Inside is the manual-winding calibre ARF22, the 18th calibre Armin Strom has designed and produced in-house, with 42 hours of power reserve. A three-dimensional ratchet on the dial side animates as the watch is wound.
“The success of our first Dual Time inspired us to build a smaller and more elegant Dual Time Resonance watch. To do this, we further developed our concept and arranged the two movements vertically,” says founder Serge Michel.
It keeps two places in view at once, each with its own sun and moon.
